“See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.” 1 John 3:1a
- Heart-shaped balloons
For this game, you will need to use the tape to create a large square in the center of the the room. Blow up the balloons and place them in the middle of the square.
Have the children divide into four teams, with one team on each side of the square. On each team, number the kids off, starting with 1. Assign multiple numbers if needed (so if one team has one more kid, assign a kid on the other teams with two numbers). The objective of the game is to get as many balloons as possible back to your team’s side. The game begins when the game leader calls off a number, then a kid from each team with that number will run to the middle and get as many balloons to their side as possible. The balloons are tallied, then the balloons are placed back into the middle. The game leader then calls off a different number or numbers, and the game goes on. This is repeated for as many times as you would like.
When you are finished playing, tell the children how even though in the game we kept running out of balloons, God’s love never runs out!
